Joining Forces

Thanks to the 80 or so #JoiningForcers who attended our inaugural seminar in Glasgow last Thursday and keynote speakers - Scottish Minister for Veterans, Scottish Veterans Commissioner and Jonathan Smith from the Office for Veterans' Affairs.

We have shared the video on our socials - here's the LinkedIn post, which we'd be grateful if you could reshare; the slides from the various presentations are available here. Thanks also to those who recorded individual interviews - we'll be in touch if and when we use them on the best practice blog and across other comms.

As we announced, the 'Great Practice in Support of the Armed Forces' blog is now live - Hatty is just doing some finalising of the structure and will share the link separately. The content you've already provided and the slides and videos from last week will be incorporated into the following 3 (of 6) 'chapters':
  • Showcasing and promoting 'Forces Friendliness' - thanks to Andrew Swingler, Dave Hill, Emma Davies and Hatty Jackson for their contributions on the subject at the seminar
  • Tackling Social Inequalities & Introduction to #Shine with Wincanton - thanks to Kat Barrett
  • Educating and convincing hiring managers and recruiters - thanks to Simon Ing
  • Successful Armed Forces programmes and making best use of military networks - thanks to Bill Twibill, Alistair Roxburgh, Troy Johnson and Osric Richards
Please register here for forthcoming meetings:
  • 1400, Tue 16th Apr - 'Brokering Talent' (online meeting)
  • 1400, Tue 21st May - 'Changing Perceptions' (online meeting)
  • Thu 27th June - #JoiningForces Seminar at Milfest, London
As ever, please ask others to get in touch if they’d like to join the group or let me know if you’d like to unsubscribe. if you'd like to unsubscribe from these emails and/ or engagement from the #JoiningForces group.... and keep those examples of great practice in support of the Armed Forces coming, so we can make them easily accessible to others through the Troopr blog and online library.

Best wishes,

Andrew
