SUPPORT FOR SERVICE LEAVERS

There are a range of support services available to the Armed Forces Community, whether it be employment support, financial, well-being and housing. It can feel overwhelming, especially if you have no idea where to access the right support. We've listed important contact information to make sure you get the help you need.

 

In an emergency, call 999, the Samaritans on 116 123, your GP, crisis team or go to A&E.

MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT

A number of Service charities provide mental health support to veterans so please do reach out if you are struggling.

Op COURAGE is an NHS mental health specialist service designed to help serving personnel due to leave the military, reservists, Armed Forces veterans and their families.

Combat Stress has a free helpline and you can contact the charity in various ways.

SSAFA - You can call SSAFA on 0800 260 6780 as well as access a live chat on their website.

The Royal British Legion: You can call, text or online chat and email for help.

HOUSING

Charities, your local council, as well as Government support can offer housing support.

OpFortitude: A government-sponsored referral pathway that can help you find suitable accommodation or maintain your current home.

Shelter and Stoll offer a range of support services, especially if you find yourself homeless.

Veterans Aid: Access immediate help finding hostel accommodation.
