Job Title: Water/ Wastewater Construction Executive (Director of Field Operations)


Location: Atlanta, GA (relocation assistance provided) - must be able to travel to projects across the Mid-Atlantic and the Southeast


Compensation: $170,000 to $210,000 (dependent on experience) + bonus + 5 weeks PTO + car allowance/ vehicle.


Irving Knight Group is retained with one of the largest building and infrastructure companies in the United States looking for a Construction Executive to lead large-scale water and wastewater plant construction projects. We are not looking for Project Managers, but instead General Superintendents and Field Operations Managers who have had experience managing a craft workforce of 50+ people and managing multiple Superintendents on large scale projects (100M+) and/ or multiple projects concurrently.


Role:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed project schedule, emphasizing critical milestones, and effectively communicate it with contractors and stakeholders. Lead cross-disciplinary meetings to secure consensus on the timeline and maintain recovery schedules when needed.
  • Oversee and ensure the timely, cost-efficient installation of contracted work across one or multiple projects.
  • Implement and enforce safety programs, conducting regular inspections to ensure compliance with company policies, contractual obligations, and government regulations.
  • Exhibit expert knowledge of owner contracts, subcontracts, and vendor agreements to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Participate in the development and management of staff charts, general conditions, project costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Create and implement a comprehensive plan for sequencing work, managing jobsite logistics, and tracking materials and personnel.


Must have:

  • 10+ years Superintendent experience working on water and wastewater projects.
  • Experience managing a craft workforce of 50+ people.
  • Manager of multiple Superintendents, either on very large projects ($100M+), or multiple projects concurrently.
  • In-depth understanding of relevant safety and building regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Proven experience in leading field operations and effectively conveying plans to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Self perform construction experience.
  • Experience with construction management software platforms including PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Procure, and P6.
  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or other related disciple OR relevant work experience.
