The SOC Design Analyst will support the development and refinement of HMRC's future Security Operations Centre (SOC) Operating Model. Working with SOC SMEs, operational teams and project stakeholders, the role will help define SOC strategic requirements, operating model components, governance arrangements and future-state processes that will shape the evolution of SOC services and capabilities.
Key Objectives
- Support the development of SOC strategic planning artefacts, operating model deliverables and supporting documentation.
- Gather, analyse and document business, operational and security requirements that inform future SOC design.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder engagement activities to capture requirements and support operating model development.
- Document future-state processes, roles, responsibilities and governance arrangements.
- Identify and manage risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies associated with SOC transformation and design activities.
- Support the development of policies, standards and service definitions required to underpin future SOC capabilities.
- Ensure alignment between SOC operating model activities and wider security transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to the definition of future SOC capabilities, organisational structures and ways of working.
Skills and Experience
- Strong understanding of and experience with Security Operations Centre (SOC) functions and operating models.
- Experience in business analysis, service design, operating model development or organisational transformation.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement and documentation skills.
- Experience documenting processes, procedures, governance models and operational requirements.
- Ability to work across business and technical teams to translate requirements into strategic and operational design outputs.
