The Sherwin-Williams Sales Management Development Program is a dynamic, entry-level opportunity designed to fast-track you into a Store Management role within 18-24 months. Embracing a promote-from-within philosophy, you can advance to an Assistant Store Manager position after successfully completing the initial 6-8 weeks of training.

This position typically involves a commitment of 44 hours per week, including potential evenings and weekends.

As part of this program, you will collaborate with store management to oversee a high-performing store, making impactful decisions that drive business strategies and customer service excellence. You'll dive deep into daily operations, engage with key clientele, and play a crucial role in expanding the company's market share by serving large commercial users such as painting contractors and purchasing agents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete training in accordance with the established program guidelines.
  • Support business strategies aimed at increasing sales and optimizing profitability.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through outstanding service initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of all products for effective customer recommendations.
  • Foster positive relationships with both wholesale and retail customers.
  • Manage store administration diligently.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, safety protocols, and loss prevention measures.
  • Maintain high standards of store condition and visual merchandising, including promotional displays.
  • Assist in employee training, development, and performance management efforts.
  • Address and resolve customer and employee complaints effectively.
  • Coordinate with Store Manager to conduct outside sales calls to enhance market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the country without requiring sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future.
  • Must hold a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Must have obtained at least a bachelor's degree by the start of this development program.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service roles.
  • A minimum of one (1) year in leadership positions involving supervision or team leadership.
  • Experience in team-oriented settings, including work experience, military service, or extracurricular activities.
  • Familiarity with selling paint and paint-related products.
  • Experience with timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future career opportunities.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, comprehending, and communicating in multiple languages.
  • Ability to communicate in Spanish is a plus.
