The role
As a Mechanical Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll deliver theoretical training course modules and supervise practical training in the Marine Mechanical Refrigeration Arena joining a team of trainers in this space. No prior training experience is required as this development is delivered on site by the Trainer Training Team giving you the skills to support the training delivery output, eventually achieving a Level 4 teaching qualification.
Our Client will look to develop you into the role utilising your experience and enthusiasm for engineering.
Day to day, you’ll deliver training in theoretical and practical technical training on Mechanical Refrigeration Engineering techniques, complex systems routines, maintenance, diagnostics and repair techniques.
- Maintain and update training documentation as directed and to assist others as requested
- Assess trainee course work and provide feedback on performance
- Be responsible for the duty of care of trainees during the delivery of training
- Carry out user level training equipment maintenance for which suitable qualifications and experience are held
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and is based on site at Gosport.
Essential experience of the Mechanical Trainer
- Proven experience in a mechanical background
- Confident in delivering training to a class of students, no previous teaching experience is required
- PC Literate and willing to expand knowledge to use training support technology
Qualifications for the Mechanical Trainer
- Must hold a minimum Level 3 NVQ/C&G in a related Engineering discipline
- Cat 1 Refrigeration Certificate is desirable
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
