Job Description

JDP is seeking an Refrigeration Manager in Fairfax, VA area! The role involves the safe operation, management, and maintenance of an Ammonia Refrigeration System and other mechanical components.


Responsibilities:

Ammonia Refrigeration System Management:

  • You are responsible for safely operating and managing the ammonia refrigeration system. This includes understanding the characteristics and hazards of ammonia, as well as ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Regularly perform daily checks and documentation on equipment to ensure proper functioning and identify any issues.
  • Evaluate machinery, equipment, and facilities to determine maintenance or repair needs. This involves assessing the condition of components, identifying wear and tear, and planning necessary repairs.
  • Track and log materials and resources used for projects and maintenance. Proper record-keeping is essential for efficient management.
  • Perform project management and scheduling to coordinate maintenance tasks effectively. Prioritize critical repairs and plan downtime for minimal disruption.
  • Inspect work performed by yourself or your team to verify that it meets specifications and mechanical standards.


Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Knowledge of public safety and security policies is crucial. You must apply these procedures to promote safe operations, protecting people, data, and property.
  • Support SQF (Safe Quality Food) by maintaining food safety and quality. Ensure that your work area remains sanitary and complies with food safety standards.


Data Entry and Documentation:

  • Perform data entry on the Maintenance Management Systems and PSM (Process Safety Management) Web-Site.
  • Accurate records are essential for tracking maintenance history and compliance.


Requirements:

  • BS, ME, EE or PE degree required
  • 5+ years experience in a high-volume food or beverage manufacturing plant
  • Capital budget & planning experience
  • PSM for Ammonia Refrigeration Systems
  • Familiar with systems and infrastructure upgrades and maintenance
  • Must have managed other engineering functions such as project, process, and packaging in a team environment Engineering responsibility and preventive Maintenance in a large facility
