Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The IT Specialist/Linux will have adequate experience and training to effectively perform the duties listed below:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
- Maintain compliance with DoD Security Technical Configuration Guides (STIGs)
- Troubleshoot and repair issues.
- Write scripts to automate processes.
Education, Knowledge, Experience, Skills and Abilities Required
- An Associate in Science or Arts, or Applied Science, in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Two years of relevant experience. Relevant experience: RHEL5/6/7, LINUX Variants UNIX, syslog products, virtualization software, DISA STIGS, Shavlik, Puppet Server, ACAS/Nessus, PKI, Storage Area Networks, backup/restore solutions, and DNS.
- Linux operating system training required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Require one of the following DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II or Level III Certifications:
- CCNA Security
- CySA+
- GICSP
- GSEC
- Security+ CE
- CND
- SSCP
- CASP+ CE
- CCNP Security
- CISA
- CISSP (or Associate)
- GCED
- GCIH
- CCSP
Qualifications
- Active DoD Secret security clearance highly desired however candidates who are eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance will be considered. If the selected candidate does not hold an active clearance, he/she will receive a contingent offer. A start date will be established once an interim Secret clearance is granted.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from various work locations on base.
- Must maintain the capability to communicate with their supervisor and/or manager when not in the office.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently traverse stairs.
- Sitting for long periods of time, standing, walking, crouching, and kneeling.
- Reaching, handling, using equipment, keyboards, and mobile devices.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 20 lbs.
