Job Description

We are working with a leading, privately owned civil engineering contractor with a proven reputation of contributing towards the delivery of major projects across building and infrastructure schemes within the UK.

They have secured a sizeable package of groundworks and additional infrastructure work on a major project in South Wales with a value of more than 20.M delivered over a challenging 18-month programme.

With additional work likely, they require an experienced Health & Safety professional to manage and oversee the safe delivery of this challenging scheme.

This role will report to the Project Manager and off-site Health & Safety Director and will therefore be the sole health and safety representative for the project. Therefore, the position will be hands-on working with the workforce, advising and coaching where required, whilst managing all safety-critical administration and liaising with all stakeholders and the management team to ensure the safe delivery of the works.

  • Manage all safety induction and toolbox talks.
  • Monitor and provide HS&E input, from design through to implementation.
  • To support the broader HS&E agenda as required and ensure governance, compliance and legal obligations are met.
  • Deliver pre-work site inspections to evaluate and address potential risks at the planning stages
  • Review, track and trend unplanned events and support project/site management in their completion of investigations
  • Prepare written reports following all site visits, inspections, audits, and investigations
  • Review and update Project documentation
  • Ensure compliance, testing the effectiveness of its various components in controlling risk and delivering continuous improvement.
  • Monitor specific environmental aspects and work in conjunction with the HS&E Director
