Summary of Role
As Head of Projects, you will take a proactive approach to overseeing and reviewing projects daily with the project management team to ensure they remain on track. You will be the key point of contact within the team, responsible for ensuring all projects are organised, timelines are met, and objectives are achieved within company policies. You will provide updates on project progress, offer recommendations, and escalate any issues requiring attention or adjustment promptly.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans, ensuring resource availability, proper allocation, and the timely delivery of projects within budget and scope.
- Manage internal resources and external partners to ensure the seamless execution of projects.
- Plan and coordinate resources to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Define project scopes based on objectives, engage relevant stakeholders, and ensure technical feasibility.
- Monitor project performance using internal systems and tools.
- Provide updates and escalate issues to senior leadership when necessary.
- Foster strong relationships with teams, clients, and stakeholders, collaborating effectively.
- Conduct risk management to minimise potential project risks.
- Attend client sites and events as required to maintain a customer-facing role.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring alignment with internal quality standards and document structures.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
- Proven background in business management, budgeting, and analysis, with at least 10 years of experience in a similar leadership role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Project and strong knowledge of other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience in the Automation sector is essential.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders.
- Adaptability, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Ability to manage department budgets and contribute to overall profitability.
- Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
