Job Description

Are you a recently qualified QS or an Assistant QS looking to take the leap into Quantity Surveyor role? We are looking for someone to work on multi-million-pound projects for our client.

The purpose of this role is managing all aspects of contractual administration for allocated projects, encompassing pre-contract, post-contract, and post-completion stages. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth financial and operational flow of our client's projects.

One of the main duties is checking contracts and preparing applications for payment, they are looking for an office-based "contract administrator style" QS as opposed to someone who likes to be site.



What will you be doing day-to-day?

  • Review contract terms and conditions, identifying rights and obligations and communicating key issues to the Commercial Director and operations managers.
  • Assist in risk and opportunity identification, assessment, and management associated with tenders and projects.
  • Ensure accuracy in timesheets, trades, rates, etc., in collaboration with Labour Managers.
  • Prepare monthly cashflow forecasts and updates.
  • Prepare interim valuations (invoices and applications) and ensure they are issued to clients in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Monitor the progress of applications for payment, payment notices, certificates of payment, and payment receipts.
  • Liaise with clients to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulation, notably regarding payment timeframes.
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and that all processes and document control comply with internal standards.
  • Maintain high levels of client liaison and attend all necessary internal and external meetings.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant commercial experience in contract administration.
  • Proficiency in working with various forms of contracts.
  • Computer literate, particularly skilled in Excel, & excellent communication skills.
  • Positive 'can do' attitude, proactive, assertive, committed, and client-oriented approach.
