Commissioning Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and inquisitive Commissioning Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves working with a range of advanced technologies to solve engineering challenges in robotics and industrial automation.

The Role
To support the delivery of ambitious and exciting projects, we are looking for a hands-on Commissioning Engineer to contribute to the design, assembly, testing, and ongoing support of automated electro-mechanical systems. This role requires a blend of practical skills, advanced diagnostic capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including workshop, software, and support teams.

The successful candidate will ensure systems are accurately built, rigorously tested, and fully documented, adhering to the highest safety and quality standards. You will use your problem-solving skills to diagnose and address faults in electrical and mechanical systems. This role also involves travel to client sites for system installation and commissioning.

Due to the nature of the work, candidates must be British citizens and eligible to obtain security clearance up to the Developed Vetting level.

Responsibilities

  • Support the design, assembly, testing, and commissioning of automated electromechanical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults using industry-standard tools and best practices.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure project requirements are met to the highest standard.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation and commissioning activities.
  • Accurately document processes and feedback improvement suggestions.

About You

  • Qualified to HNC level in an electrical-focused course, apprenticeship-trained, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Skilled at diagnosing and resolving electrical faults.
  • Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Eager to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
  • Eligible for security clearance and DBS checks.
