Responsibilities Of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant
  • Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
  • Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility and relieve pain.
  • Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families on at-home exercises and self-care techniques.
  • Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of various treatment modalities to support patient care.
  • Conducts screenings of residents as scheduled for referral to Occupational Therapist
  • Contributes objective data to Occupational Therapists as allowed by scope of practice
  • ProvideOccupational Therapy treatment to residents when indicated per the plan of care
  • Actively engage and contribute to the success of the rehab department, IDT and facility success
Requirements Of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Minimum of Associate of Science in Occuoational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program
  • A current Florida COTA License
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Must be computer/tech savy
  • Previous experience in is preferred in SNF and LTC but will take new grads.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care practices.
  • Strong understanding of physical therapy techniques and modalities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with patients.
