Responsibilities Of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility and relieve pain.
- Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families on at-home exercises and self-care techniques.
- Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of various treatment modalities to support patient care.
- Conducts screenings of residents as scheduled for referral to Occupational Therapist
- Contributes objective data to Occupational Therapists as allowed by scope of practice
- ProvideOccupational Therapy treatment to residents when indicated per the plan of care
- Actively engage and contribute to the success of the rehab department, IDT and facility success
Requirements Of Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant- Minimum of Associate of Science in Occuoational Therapy Assisting from an accredited program
- A current Florida COTA License
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Must be computer/tech savy
- Previous experience in is preferred in SNF and LTC but will take new grads.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and patient care practices.
- Strong understanding of physical therapy techniques and modalities.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate well with patients.
