The role
As a Category Manager you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. This is a group level position, and you'll have responsibility for developing and delivering category projects and initiatives across Projects and Business Sectors within Babcock International Group. The role will include leading supplier relationship management with identified Key, Strategic and Preferred suppliers across this category area.
Day to day, you'll be implementing category strategy initiatives and delivering projects within a category space across the Babcock International Group. We are looking to roll out a new operating model for procurement and supply chain, and you'll be delivering operational support activities that lead to cost reduction and product improvements.
Other Key Duties:
Delivering tangible, bottom-line value and benefits to the business resulting from pan-Group Category management
Delivering efficiency and effectiveness improvements to supply chain support across the Group through development of best working practices and standardisation
Establishing and delivering improvements to Project, Business Unit and Sector requirements, including those driven by the future bid pipeline
Development and management of improvements to the Babcock Environmental, Sustainability & Governance performance through supply chain engagement
Managing effective stakeholder relationships involved in Category project execution
Experience of the Category Manager:
Experience in a Supplier and/or Project Management, Sourcing or Category Management role
Proven track record of commercial negotiation
Knowledge and experience of change and stakeholder management
This role is 37 hour working week, hybrid options available, flexible on location and an element of travel is required within the role.
Qualifications for the Category Manager
MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification
The successful candidate must be able to achieve SC security clearance level for this role.
