Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Accelerated Management & Sales Training Program is an exciting entry-level opportunity designed to equip you for a leadership role in store management within 18-24 months. With Sherwin-Williams' commitment to promote from within, you can step into an Assistant Store Manager position after completing the initial 8-week training successfully.

This role typically requires a commitment of 44 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

In this program, you will collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business while gaining leadership experience and insights into strategic development. You will learn all aspects of operations, customer management, and internal strategy, allowing you to understand your crucial role in driving team success. Your goal will be to expand the company's market share by selling high-quality products to large commercial customers, including painting contractors and purchasing agents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete the training program in alignment with established objectives.
  • Support strategies to increase store sales and optimize profitability.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service that ensures high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build extensive knowledge of products to make effective customer recommendations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with both wholesale and retail customers.
  • Manage store administration tasks diligently.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies.
  • Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards.
  • Assist with employee training, development, performance management, and corrective actions.
  • Respond to and resolve any customer or employee complaints effectively.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to make external sales calls to boost market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country without requiring sponsorship.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver's License is required.
  • Bachelor's degree must be obtained by the start of the program.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Previous leadership experience supervising others or leading teams is beneficial.
  • Experience working in team-oriented settings, including work experience, extracurricular activities, or military service.
  • Prior experience in selling paint and paint-related products is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping or customer relationship management (CRM) systems is beneficial.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in additional languages, especially Spanish.
