Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Accelerated Management & Sales Training Program is an entry-level opportunity that rapidly prepares you for a Store Management position in just 18-24 months. With Sherwin-Williams' commitment to promoting from within, successful participants can expect to progress to an Assistant Store Manager role upon completing an initial 8-week training period.

Target Start Date: Summer 2025

This program typically requires a weekly commitment of 44 hours, which may include evenings and weekends.

As part of this program, you will collaborate closely with store management to oversee a multi-million dollar business, gaining invaluable insights into operational strategies and team dynamics. Throughout your training, you will learn essential skills in operations, client engagement, and internal strategy, positioning you as a key player in the team’s success. You will also focus on expanding the company’s market share by selling high-quality products to key commercial clients, including painting contractors and purchasing agents.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Completing training in line with the established program.
  • Supporting business strategies to drive sales and profitability.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through exceptional service.
  • Maintaining comprehensive knowledge of all products for effective recommendations.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Managing store administration tasks.
  • Ensuring adherence to policies and procedures, including safety and loss prevention.
  • Maintaining store appearance and visual merchandising standards.
  • Supporting employee training, development, and performance management.
  • Resolving customer and employee complaints.
  • Collaborating with the Store Manager on outside sales calls to boost market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work without needing visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • A valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • A bachelor's degree by the start of the program.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience working in team-oriented environments, including military or extracurricular activities.
  • Background in selling paint or related products.
  • Experience with timekeeping or customer relationship management systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages, particularly Spanish.
