Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an exciting entry-level opportunity designed to fast-track your path to a Store Management role within 18-24 months. Embracing our promote-from-within culture, you will have the chance to step into an Assistant Store Manager position after successfully completing a comprehensive 6-8 week training program.

This role typically requires a commitment of 44 hours per week, including potential evenings and weekends.

Throughout the program, you'll work closely with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, gaining valuable leadership experience and insights into store development strategies. You'll become proficient in operations, client relations, and internal strategies, preparing you for a crucial role in driving the team's success. Your mission will be to expand the company's market share by engaging large commercial users such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers who rely on our premium products.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Complete training aligned with the established program.
  • Support business strategies to drive sales and improve profitability.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through outstanding service.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of all products for effective customer recommendations.
  • Build and nurture relationships with both wholesale and retail customers.
  • Manage store administration tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies.
  • Maintain the store's visual merchandising standards, including promotional setups and sales floor displays.
  • Assist in employee training, development, and performance management.
  • Address and resolve customer and employee issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager on outside sales calls to enhance market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country without the need for sponsorship.
  • Valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Bachelor's degree required before the program starts.
  • Able to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs frequently and 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Experience in a leadership role, supervising others.
  • Background in a team-oriented environment (work, extracurricular, military, etc.).
  • Familiarity with selling paint and related products.
  • Experience with timekeeping and/or CRM systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in more than one language; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
