Job Description

Sherwin-Williams is excited to invite enthusiastic individuals passionate about sales and customer service to join our Leadership Development Program (LDP). This immersive eight-week program provides hands-on experience in our Automotive Branch, designed for those looking to advance their careers in management and professional sales.

Successful candidates will gain invaluable insights into sales, customer service, finance, and strategic business planning to enhance our operations. Moreover, participants will have the opportunity to network with professionals across Marketing, Operations, and Research & Development.

Throughout this program, you will develop essential skills that pave the way for a successful career in management. Upon completing the 8-week training, you will transition into an available Assistant Branch Manager position.

Please note that this position requires relocation for both the training period and subsequent placement as an Assistant Branch Manager upon completion of the LDP.

The training program is slated to commence in 2025.

As a participant, your responsibilities will include direct customer engagement, which may involve minors, as well as managing cash and electronic payments, inventory, and store merchandise. Therefore, a review of criminal history will be conducted to ensure the safety of our customers, employees, and business operations.

Participants will assist Branch Managers in key areas of branch operations, including:

  • Creating and executing branch market plans aligned with market conditions and financial goals.
  • Implementing strategies to boost sales and maximize profitability.
  • Gaining knowledge of products for effective customer recommendations.
  • Delivering top-notch customer service.
  • Ensuring accurate completion and documentation of customer orders.
  • Maintaining optimal inventory levels at the branch.
  • Adhering to all company policies, including safety and loss prevention procedures.
  • Supporting the training and development of employees.
  • Addressing and resolving customer and employee complaints.
  • Assisting in staffing needs and developing work schedules.
  • Analyzing financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) metrics.
  • Helping with deliveries as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without needing sponsorship for a work visa.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Ability to retrieve materials from shelves and floor stacks, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Must hold a bachelor's degree by the commencement of the development program.
  • Must be willing to relocate as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Willingness to relocate after program completion.
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Sales, Marketing, Management, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain.
  • At least one year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service roles.
  • Experience working effectively in team-oriented environments, whether through work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
  • At least one year of leadership experience in supervisory or team-leading roles.
