Sherwin-Williams is excited to welcome motivated individuals who are passionate about sales and customer service to our Leadership Development Program (LDP). This immersive eight-week program is designed to provide hands-on experience within an Automotive Branch, granting successful candidates a comprehensive learning journey through practical experiences.
Participants will gain valuable insights into sales, customer service, finance, and strategic business planning essential to support our operations. You'll also have the chance to network professionally, building relationships with teams in Marketing, Operations, and Research & Development.
Our training experience equips you with the skills necessary to thrive in a management and professional sales career. Upon completing the 8-week training program successfully, you will advance to an available Assistant Branch Manager position.
Please note: This position requires relocation during the training period and for your placement into the Assistant Branch Manager role upon successful completion of the LDP.
This training program is set to begin in 2025.
The role involves interaction with customers, including minors; and access to cash, electronic equipment, personal information, merchandise, and more, which may be supervised or unsupervised. Therefore, a review of criminal history is mandatory to ensure the safety of our customers and the integrity of our operations.
As part of the LDP, you will support Branch Managers in crucial aspects of branch operations, including:
- Developing branch market plans based on market conditions, branch mission, and financial goals
- Implementing business strategies to drive sales and maximize profitability
- Building extensive product knowledge for effective customer recommendations
- Delivering exceptional customer service
- Ensuring accuracy in customer orders and transaction documentation
- Maintaining appropriate inventory levels
- Complying with policies and procedures surrounding safety, loss prevention, and security
- Supporting the training, development, and performance management of employees
- Addressing customer and employee complaints effectively
- Assisting in staffing decisions and work schedule development
- Analyzing management and financial reports, including Profit & Loss (P&L) ratios
- Occasionally assisting with deliveries
Minimum Requirements:
- At least eighteen (18) years of age
- Legally authorized to work in the country of employment without requiring sponsorship for employment work visa status now or in the future
- Valid, unrestricted Driver's License
- Ability to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Bachelor's degree by the start of the development program
- Willingness to relocate for this position, if required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Willingness to relocate, as necessary, after completing the development program
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Sales, Marketing, Management, Business, Operations, or Supply Chain
- A minimum of one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service
- Previous experience working in a team-oriented environment, including work, extracurricular activities, or military service
- At least one (1) year of leadership experience, supervising others or leading teams
