Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Sales and Management Talent Development Program is a fast-paced, entry-level opportunity tailored to prepare you for a Store Management role within 18-24 months. Emphasizing our internal promotion philosophy, you could advance into an Assistant Store Manager position after successfully completing an engaging 8-week training.

This position generally requires a commitment of 44 hours per week, including potential evenings and weekends.

Throughout the program, you will work closely with store management to oversee a business valued at over a million dollars. You will gain crucial insights and leadership experience, helping to shape the store's strategies and operations. Your primary focus will be to enhance the company's market share by selling our premium products to major commercial clients such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers.

Job Duties:

  • Complete training according to our established program.
  • Support business strategies to boost sales and optimize profitability.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Build and maintain product knowledge for effective customer recommendations.
  • Foster positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Manage store administration tasks.
  • Adhere to policies including safety, loss prevention, and store security.
  • Maintain outstanding store conditions and visual merchandising standards.
  • Assist in employee training, development, and performance management.
  • Resolve customer and employee complaints promptly.
  • Work with the Store Manager on outside sales calls to expand market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
  • Must be legally authorized to work without sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.
  • A valid, unrestricted Driver's License is required.
  • Must possess a bachelor's degree by the start of this training program.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • One (1) year of leadership experience, supervising others or leading teams.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented environment, including work experience or military service.
  • Previous experience selling paint and related products.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is desirable.
