The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program offers an exciting opportunity for those seeking to develop a successful career in management and sales. This is an entry-level position designed to prepare you for a Store Management role within 18-24 months. At Sherwin-Williams, we promote from within, giving you the chance to progress to an Assistant Store Manager position upon the successful completion of the initial 6-8-week training.
This role typically requires a commitment of 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends.
Throughout the program, you will collaborate with store management to oversee a million-dollar business, contributing leadership skills and strategic insight. You will gain comprehensive knowledge about store operations, clients, and internal strategies while playing a vital role in the team’s success. Your efforts will focus on increasing the company’s market share by sales targeting large commercial clients, including painting contractors and purchasing agents.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Complete training consistent with established program.
- Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
- Build and maintain knowledge of all products for effective customer recommendations.
- Establish positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
- Manage store administration tasks.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures, including safety and loss prevention.
- Maintain high standards for store condition and visual merchandising.
- Support employee training and development, including performance management.
- Resolve any customer or employee complaints.
- Partner with the Store Manager to conduct outside sales for market share growth.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
- Must be legally authorized to work without needing sponsorship for a work visa now or in the future.
- Must have a valid and unrestricted Driver's License.
- Must hold at least a bachelor's degree by the program start date.
- Must be able to retrieve materials from shelves and lift/carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs on occasion, with or without accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
- Experience in a leadership role, supervising others or leading teams.
- Team-oriented work experience, including extracurricular or military service.
- Prior experience selling paint and related products.
- Experience using timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
- Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
- Ability to communicate in more than one language, particularly Spanish.
