Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is an exciting entry-level opportunity designed to fast-track you into a Store Management role within 18-24 months. With our philosophy of promoting from within, you'll be well-equipped to step into an Assistant Store Manager position after successfully completing an intensive 8-week training.

This structured program typically requires 44 hours of work per week, which may include evenings and weekends.

During your training, you will team up with store management to oversee a million-dollar business. You will gain leadership experience and insights into store development and strategy. This program will immerse you in all aspects of operations, client relations, and internal strategies, showcasing how integral your role is to the team's success. You will have the chance to drive growth in our market share by selling to large commercial clients, including painting contractors and purchasing agents, who rely on our high-quality products.

  • Complete training consistent with established program.
  • Support business strategies to increase sales and optimize profitability.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
  • Build and maintain knowledge of products for effective customer recommendations.
  • Develop positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Perform store administration duties.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and all store policies.
  • Maintain outstanding store condition and high visual merchandising standards.
  • Support employee training, development, and performance management.
  • Resolve any customer or employee complaints.
  • Partner with Store Manager to conduct outside sales calls to enhance market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the country without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree by the program's start.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. occasionally with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in a leadership role or supervising others.
  • Experience working in team-oriented settings, including work, extracurricular activities, or military service.
  • Previous sales experience in paint or related products.
  • Experience with timekeeping and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future job opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in more than one language.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
