Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Training Program is a fast-paced, entry-level opportunity designed to groom you for a Store Management role within 18-24 months. Embracing a promote-from-within philosophy, this program enables you to step into an Assistant Store Manager position upon successful completion of an intensive 6-8 week training course.

This role typically requires a commitment of 44 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.

Throughout the program, you will work closely with store management to manage a million-dollar business, offering leadership and strategic insight. You’ll learn every aspect of store operations, clientele, and internal strategies, making you an essential part of our team's success. You will enhance the company’s market share by selling to key commercial users, such as painting contractors and purchasing agents, who require bulk quantities of our premium products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete training consistent with the program guidelines.
  • Support strategic business initiatives to enhance sales and optimize profitability.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction via excellent service.
  • Build thorough knowledge of products to provide effective customer recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with wholesale and retail customers.
  • Facilitate store administration efficiently.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding safety, loss prevention, and security.
  • Uphold high visual merchandising standards, including product displays and promotional materials.
  • Assist in employee training, development, performance management, and corrective measures.
  • Effectively address and resolve customer or employee complaints.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager on outside sales initiatives to grow market share.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years old.
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the country without requiring sponsorship.
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree by the start of the program.
  • Must be able to frequently lift and carry 50 lbs., and up to 70 lbs. occasionally, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience working in a team-focused environment, including extracurricular activities or military service.
  • Prior experience in the paint and related products sales sector.
  • Familiarity with timekeeping and/or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities.
  • Ability to communicate in more than one language.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
