Job Description

The Sherwin-Williams Management & Sales Development Program is an exciting opportunity tailored for individuals seeking to fast-track their career into Store Management within a year to two years. Embracing a promote-from-within culture, successful participants can step into an Assistant Store Manager role after completing an intensive 8-week training program.

This position typically requires a commitment of 44 hours per week, which may include evenings and weekends.

Throughout the program, you will work closely with store leadership to manage and develop a million-dollar business. You will gain valuable insights into store operations, client relationships, and strategic planning, equipping you with the skills to significantly contribute to your store's success. Additionally, you will expand our market share by engaging with large commercial clients such as painting contractors, purchasing agents, and manufacturers who require substantial quantities of our premium products.

This program will include the following responsibilities:

  • Complete training in accordance with established program standards
  • Support business strategies aimed at increasing sales and optimizing profitability
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through outstanding service
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of products to provide effective customer recommendations
  • Build and maintain relationships with both wholesale and retail customers
  • Oversee store administration tasks
  • Ensure compliance with safety, loss prevention, and security policies
  • Maintain high standards for store condition and visual merchandising, including promotional displays
  • Assist in training and development of staff, performance management, and corrective actions
  • Address and resolve customer and employee complaints
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to enhance market share through outside sales calls
Minimum Requirements:
  • Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Must be legally authorized to work without needing sponsorship for visa status now or in the future
  • Must possess a valid, unrestricted Driver's License
  • Must have obtained a bachelor's degree by the start of this program
  • Must be capable of lifting and carrying materials up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 70 lbs occasionally
Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least one (1) year of experience in retail, sales, or customer service
  • Experience in leadership roles or supervising teams for at least one (1) year
  • Previous experience in team-oriented environments, through work, extracurricular activities, or military service
  • Familiarity with selling paint and paint-related products
  • Experience with timekeeping and customer relationship management (CRM) systems
  • Willingness to relocate for future opportunities
  • Proficiency in multiple languages, especially Spanish
